About Me
I’m an entrepreneur’s son (an independent optician) so entrepreneurialism is part of me. At 11 I started selling sweets and fizzy drinks at school, at 16 I became a freelance windsurfing instructor, and by 21 I had lived worked, and studied in the UK, France, Greece, Turkey, and the US.
I studied mechanical engineering at The University of Sheffield, earning a 1st class hons for my undergraduate masters. Upon leaving I set up Exyo Design Ltd, designing and making assistive devices to help people with disabilities express themselves more fully. I am currently setting up The Exyo Foundation, a charity to get those assistive devices to most in need e.g. in developing countries.
As a self-taught coder and front end developer; I built, this, the Exyo, and the Morgan Opticians websites from HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP. I also have experience with Wordpress sites (this is what I used for these websites pre-custom build).
I also have photography/videography experience, having shot all the photos and videos on the Exyo site, and many of the photos on the Morgan Optician’s site.
Outside of work I enjoy sports, music, and spending time with friends. I regularly run, cycle, play football, and climb (this is a must in Sheffield where I live). I play trumpet in a wedding band and love live music.
I am a people person, I love my friends, I love meeting new people, and I love working with people to achieve a shared vision. I can’t wait to start working with you.
